Cargo Restaurant, the industrial-chic destination at Pier 7, has advanced its audio infrastructure with the integration of a high-performance digital processing solution from NST Audio. Designed to meet the complex acoustic demands of a high-volume, multi-zone venue, the system introduces a centralized processing architecture that ensures exceptional signal integrity, operational efficiency, and precise system control.
At the core of the deployment is the NST Audio VMX88, an 8-input, 8-output selection processor made to be fixed. This compact 1U unit delivers tour-grade performance, seamlessly managing the entire signal chain—from input routing to final system optimization. Operating at 96kHz with high-specification converters, the VMX88 guarantees pristine audio reproduction, preserving clarity and detail across the venue’s distribution network.
The deployment leverages an advanced DSP engine, offering 16 bands of parametric EQ per input and output, alongside precision high-pass and low-pass filtering, and transparent limiting. This enables highly accurate acoustic tuning tailored to Cargo’s distinctive industrial space. The integrated 8x8 matrix architecture allows for seamless zone control, ensuring consistent and adaptable audio coverage across the terrace, bar, and dining areas.
Further enhancing operational flexibility, the system supports customized remote control and wall-panel integration, allowing on-site teams to manage volume levels and source selection with ease, while maintaining secure access control over critical system parameters for technical personnel.
With the implementation of the NST Audio VMX88, Cargo Restaurant now benefits from a robust, scalable, and high-fidelity processing backbone. The result is a finely tuned audio environment that supports the venue’s vibrant atmosphere, delivering consistent performance and reliability under demanding, high-duty cycle conditions.
