Warner Bros. World opened its first themed park in the Middle East!
Located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE, the indoor amusement park officially opened its gates to the public on July 25.
The developers had a very specific design in mind. To achieve that, 3D renders were produced based on off the shelf truss building blocks, as well as customized ones. Using off the shelf pieces shortens the delivery time and reduces the costs. Customizations are however what achieves the exact design required by the client.
The structure consists of 7 “Half Domes” with a circular Top, an opening of 8 to 10 meters and a height of 8 to 12 meters which served as screen holders for projections. Dome Frame structures that will be capable of holding their 8m Satellite Dish Type domes in place, four structures were identical and three were totally different.
A combination of linear trusses, corner blocks, and 8.5 circles was used to assemble the first 6 domes. The 7th dome had a more complicated structure, thus special parts were used to give a forward pitch for its critical use.
Finally, foundation base plates were used to secure the structures to the ground.
