30 Sep 2025 DUBAI, UAE – September 2025 – Procom Middle East hosted the highly anticipated “UNPLUGGED: The Astera Experience” on September 24th at the Procom Experience Center in Dubai. The event drew a significant gathering of lighting designers, cinematographers, event professionals, and tech enthusiasts eager for an intensive, hands-on deep dive into Astera’s award-winning, battery-powered, and wirelessly controlled LED lighting ecosystem. The day was structured into two sessions, led by Astera’s Product Specialist and head of Astera Academy, Jesper Sørensen. The focus was on educating attendees about the technical excellence, workflow reliability, and creative flexibility that Astera fixtures bring to the film, broadcast, and live events sectors. The first part of the seminar focused entirely on the Astera Ecosystem, demonstrating the power of a single platform where every fixture, from tubes to spotlights, is controlled seamlessly within the same wireless environment. The ecosystem’s foundation is its control structure, built around two key components: the intuitive AsteraApp (a mobile application) and the AsteraBox (ART7). The AsteraBox serves as the vital link, acting as a Bluetooth Bridge (BTB) to connect the app to all the lights (which use a dedicated UHF radio frequency), and as a transmitter for industry-standard CRMX wireless DMX, ensuring flexible and fast setup, advanced monitoring (via Talkback+), and seamless control of color, brightness, and complex effects across the entire lighting rig. This unified approach vastly simplifies complex setups and remote programming. Jesper Sørensen clarified the value proposition: “I think it’s important that the ecosystem is understood, but also what capabilities and what people can do with the whole ecosystem, because no matter what light you are looking at when it comes to the Astera products, everything fits within the same ecosystem.” A significant technical highlight was the detailed review of the Titan LED engine. The discussion went beyond simple output, stressing the importance of high CRI, tunable white light, and color consistency across the entire product range, critical factors for cinematic and broadcast quality assurance, which clearly resonated with the professional audience. The second half of each session provided attendees with vital hands-on experience, offering insider access to Astera’s latest innovations. Professionals worked directly with the high-output “Quik” family, the versatile Lunabulb, the beam-shaping QuikSpot, and the high-power QuikPunch. Excitement was notably high for the newly shipping SolaBulb, which extends Astera’s core technology into a high-demand form factor. Reflecting on the productive atmosphere, Jesper stated: “We just finished an incredible event here at Procom. We had two sessions where a lot of industry professionals came, and I’m super happy with all the feedback, the questions, and also the passion that people share for what we do in this industry.” The day was a powerful affirmation of the regional industry’s appetite for advanced, wireless-first lighting solutions. Jesper concluded: “All in all, the day was simply just incredible. All the passionate people that we have in our industry is also what makes me and also Astera thrive and move forward. So I’ll be looking forward to coming back to Procom Middle East next year.” Procom Middle East looks forward to strengthening its vital partnership with Astera, continuing to bring cutting-edge, wireless technology and specialized educational experiences to the region’s dynamic creative and technical community.
