Philips Hydrus takes the stage at Dubai’s top television shows

SL Hydrus 350, the latest fixture from the Philips Showline Platinum lamps range, has already become the product of choice for major television shows in Dubai.

This super bright and compact hybrid beam, spot and wash moving head is ideal for television as it delivers exceptional output, great color control and comprehensive beam effects system, giving light engineers all the tools they need to create mid-air effects, clear and precise projection as well as seamless blended animated washes.

Arab Casting, the competition show in search for talented actors and actresses from the Arab world, required a multi-function lighting system that would accompany the different stages of the show and shed the proper lighting on the cast as they present their act. SL Hydrus 350 was essentially used as key light, directed at the actors without bothering them and allowing the scenes to be brought up on camera exactly as in the studio.

The multi-function moving head was also used as a beam and spot for effects during the intro, outro, break in/out and for the presenter’s entrance.

SL Hydrus 350 was also the product of choice for another upcoming major television show, Victorious.  Having tested the output, flexibility and durability of the moving head on the set of Arab Casting, the producers requested SL Hydrus 350 to be installed to complement the impressive audio visual set-up of the in-production show. Used primarily for effects, the moving head’s wide range of colors and beam effects came as the ideal option to provide full coverage of the TV set & stage, and to complement the impressive set-up.
