Babylon

In Gate Village 5, there is a new, opulent restaurant called Babylon that at night, transforms into a vibrant nightclub. A fine dining meal with international influences and theatrically staged entertainment is the backdrop to all of this. This new DIFC restaurant is influenced by Babylon, promising to capture the spirit of this great wonder of the ancient world. Addmind Hospitality, which also runs CLAP, Sucre, Iris, Bar du Port, and the megaclub White Dubai, is the company that founded Babylon.

To honor this place of wonder the venue opened with Adamson’s intelligent audio systems, Cyclops’s lighting fixtures, Antari’s effect machines, and Visiotek’s LED displays, from Procom Middle East’s portfolio to take the restaurant/nightclub to the next level.

Various products from Adamson Systems were integrated to achieve the perfect immersive sound experience with the main system comprising primarily the IS7PX a passive 2-way, full range point source cabinet from the IS-series which have been installed throughout the venue, together with the IS7P and the IS10P. The IS10P is a 2-way, full range point source cabinet that provides equal tonal balance when moving outside of the intended coverage pattern. The IS119 was deployed as well, it is the larger subwoofer in the IS-series and it is mounted in an ultra-efficient front-loaded enclosure, designed to reproduce clean, musical low-frequency information.

Along with the IS-series, additional subs and point sources from the Point-series and the Point Concentric-series have been deployed as reinforcement in the venue. The Point 8Pi and 8P are the smallest members of the Point series family and are right at home with speech systems or moderate level playback systems, but still powerful enough to take on the live staged entertainment of Babylon. Furthermore, the PC5i, PC10i, PC12i, and PC8i of the Adamson Point Concentric series were deployed, ensuring a warm, deep sound. 

All artist monitoring was achieved by deploying the M12 for stage monitors of the M-series. The incredibly lightweight Adamson M12 monitor delivers everything needed in a low profile stage monitor: fantastic gain before feedback, precise pattern control, and high output with extremely low distortion.

For clean sound reproduction, several amplifiers from LAB Gruppen were used including D80, D40, D120, and D200 as well as the PA1500.

To generate a perfect Audio control, Symetrix Prism 16 and Blustream’s DA11AEN and DA11ADE Dante audio analog decoders, were selected. As a result, the systems can be easily managed with the Symetrix Arc-3B remote control and an Ipad.

To create the perfect grid and circle for all the lighting fixtures, the black Eurotruss HD34 was selected. 

The selected lighting fixtures by Cyclops Lighting, immensely aided in creating Babylon’s unique theatrical atmosphere. More than 250 Boomer 6 LED RGB were selected for this venue. The front ring of the Boomer 6 is pixel controlled with built- in macros, which makes this compact zoom PAR the ideal fixture for Babylon. The Sparkly 600 and 800 moving heads were selected, because of the full control of the light beam and coverage. In addition to this, the Flash 48, the PR250, the LEDE 200 Spot moving head, and the LEDE 100 compact moving head were selected. To create fans of larger beams with a broad projection of bright RGB color mixing, the Razor RGB6300 was selected for the stage area along with the indoor pixi strips. 

The lighting control was secured by using the Madrix Luna 16. The Madrix Luna reliably distributes DMX512 data over long or short distances using Ethernet network or USB.

For the special effects on the stage, the haze machines by Antari were selected. Namely the HZ-500, the HZ-1000, and the DNG250 low-fog generator. The DNG250 low-fog generator creates the perfect waterfall-like low-fog effects, which is perfect for this place of wonder.

To power the systems, the main distribution boxes from Power Distros were selected.

The P2.604 indoor LED screen display from Visio.Tek was selected as the background for the stage. The LED screens were controlled through the MCTRL 4K LED sending box.
