Woodcreek School

Kenya’s Woodcreek School is a modern, international day school, ranging from nursery through to secondary. The school gives students the highest standard of British Curriculum instruction.

The main auditorium at Woodcreek was part of the newly built school and plays a central role in the day to day activities of the campus as well as in its arts and cultural programs.

The auditorium required a complete Audio, Video & Lighting system that could adapt to a range of shows and performances within the multipurpose space.

Cyclops Lighting products were the ideal choice for the lighting, capable of producing a variety of creative effects. Cyclops PR-300 and PR-250T LED Profiles, FR-200F and FR-300 LED Fresnels, and LEDE 300 LED spot moving heads were among the selected fixtures.

These fixtures were installed on a network of Eurotruss HD34 trusses which formed part of the moving rigging grid within the auditorium.  The rigging system was made up of Chainmaster D8+ hoists with cable management systems, allowing the full rig to be dropped to floor level for maintenance and change overs.

Madrix Luna 4, 8, and an Avolites Tiger Touch II Console formed the lighting control system.

Both haze and low fog effects were included within the design. Both the DNG 250 and the Antari HZ-1000 haze machine were chosen for their propensity to produce large outputs.

The K-Array and DAS audio brands were selected for the audio system. To achieve the best acoustical coverage, KX12 Array’s coaxial speakers from the Dragon line were chosen to form the main array in conjunction with KMT218 subwoofers from the Thunder line. Action-M512A stage monitors,  Arco-24T loudspeakers, and DAS CL-8T auditorium ceiling speakers were all selected from DAS Audio to complement the fill system.
