Located within the luxurious Kempinski Hotel, Vera Versilia is an upscale Italian restaurant that embodies sophistication, style, and a dynamic nightlife energy. To match the venue’s evolution from refined dining to an immersive evening experience featuring live DJs and performers, a high-performance K-array sound system was selected to deliver pristine clarity and powerful, even coverage throughout both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Vera Versilia required an upgraded audio system that could deliver exceptional clarity and power while maintaining the venue’s sophisticated ambience. The existing setup was only suited for background music, but as the restaurant’s entertainment offering expanded to include nightly live DJs and roaming performers, a system capable of achieving higher SPL levels with precise control was essential. Additionally, the installation needed to accommodate multiple performance zones, a new control system, and integrated wireless microphone capabilities.
The K-array system was carefully selected and deployed to suit the acoustic needs of both the indoor dining area and the terrace.
Indoors: 6 × KP52 Python line array speakers and 2 × KS2P Thunder subwoofers
Terrace: 4 × KK52 Kobra speakers and 2 × KS1P Thunder subwoofers
Amplification: A single K-array KA208 amplifier powers the entire system, providing high efficiency and clean, dynamic output across all zones.
An NST VMX88 processor manages all input sources, including both DJ locations and background music, feeding signal to the K-array KA208 amplifier. Six EW-D wireless microphone systems interface through a Midas DL16 digital stage box connected to a Midas M32C mixer, neatly housed in the control rack. Two outputs from the M32C route back to the VMX88, ensuring that live vocal and instrumental performances can be seamlessly mixed and distributed throughout the K-array system. System levels for DJs, BGM, and live performers are controlled via iPad or the NST VR2 wall-mounted remote, while performers’ inputs are mixed wirelessly through the M32C app for maximum flexibility.
The installation required careful planning to accommodate the roaming performers and ensure their wireless audio could be smoothly integrated and balanced within the venue’s distributed K-array system. The final design provides effortless control for staff and delivers consistent, high-quality sound coverage both indoors and on the terrace, allowing Vera Versilia to maintain its refined atmosphere while supporting dynamic live entertainment each night.
